Okay, last week I correctly guessed that Theresa Nist would get that second rose and be selected for the final episode of ABC’s  hit show, “Golden Bachelor.”  I also promised after it came down to two finalists, I would predict the winner. So here we go …

Leslie Fhima, who got the first of the two roses, is 64, lives in Minnesota and works as a personal trainer. Twice divorced, she claims to have had a relationship with Prince. (He’s not talking.)

Theresa Nist, in the first episode, dared to show up in her “birthday suit,” which was actually a fun fake and pretty bold of her. She’s 69 and lives in New Jersey. (She sounds like it, too, but not too much.)

Here’s my reasoning on who will be chosen …

LESLIE

Although ABC’s “Golden Bachelor” is supposedly reality TV, in truth, it’s more of a fantasy, especially when Gerry Turner says he’s serious about Leslie. Oh, come on! Did you see her pole dance on the so-called talent show episode? Or how about all those tattoos on her family members? A relationship between these Gerry and Leslie would never last. She’d want to go dancing bra-less; he’d want to have an early dinner at Cracker Barrel.

THERESA

At 69, Theresa is age-appropriate and a salt-of-the-earth kind of woman who wears far too much lip gloss. Works in the financial services industry as a senior compliance and operations liaison. Perhaps a little boring, but that’s okay because Gerry is too. She loves to give him goo-goo eyes; Gerry eats that up. He fell for her on their first date when his driving was out of control and she nervously patted his shoulder, then told him he was doing fine. I wasn’t convinced, were you? By the look in her eyes, she wasn’t either. Still, it was a smart move on her part. And did you see how Gerry kicked Kathy to the curb when she picked on Theresa?

Obviously, I believe Gerry Turner will pick Theresa Nist in the final episode on November 30. However, even though they seem pretty compatible, I can’t imagine either one of them being willing to leave their kids and grandkids to relocate to another part of the country, so I don’t predict wedding bells. At the most, he will offer her an engagement ring, and furthermore, I don’t imagine it will lead to a future together.

Unless Therese loses all that lipstick, that is. Then, maybe he’d consider moving east.

BTW … my second novel about women in their late 50s, “Maybe Now, Maybe Never,” will be released in February 2024! “Falling Apart, Falling for You,” the first in this series, is available online everywhere.
